    This a very common question we get asked by our customers after the first use of their stairlift.

  • Will I need to pay for a quotation?

    No, at Bespoke we offer a free home survey and will provide you with a no-obligation written quotation that's clear and easy to understand.

  • Will I be under any obligation to buy after a sales visit?

    Absolutely not, our advice is free and we'll give you with a written quotation with no obligation to purchase. During the visit our trained consultant will assess your staircase and discuss the best stairlift options with you. They'll also explain the installation process, and help with any questions or concerns you may have.

  • How much does a stairlift cost?

    All of our products are tailored to your specific needs and therefore, prices can vary. The cost of your Bespoke stairlift may depend on your staircase dimensions, chosen model, and any additional extras that you choose.   • How much does it cost to run a stairlift?

    On average a Bespoke stairlift costs around £25 in electricity per year to run, which is a standard cost for running a stairlift. The cost of running a small appliance.

  • Is it easy to operate?

    The Synergy straight and Infinity curved stairlifts have a range of features and extras to ensure that use is seamless and effortless for all users.

  • Are Bespoke Stairlifts easy to clean?

    We are one of the only manufacturers that has easy-to-zip-off covers on the Synergy and Infinity as standard. This allows for a deeper clean and keeps the stairlift looking great. Our stairlifts use durable plastics for easy cleaning. The rails are easy to wipe down with a dry cloth.

  • Is their colour options available?

    Yes. Each one of our stairlifts comes with a variety of extra features including colour options to allow you to choose a stairlift to suit and fit within your home and decor.

  • How fast does the stairlift travel?

    All our stairlifts move an average of 0.1 meters per second. The average straight staircase would take approximately 42 seconds to reach the top. The average curved staircase would take approximately 55 seconds to reach the top

  • What is the weight limit of the stairlift?

    Weight limits depend on the model of the stairlift. Our maximum limit can accommodate up to 25st (160kg).

  • What happens in a power cut?

    As the stairlift is battery powered it will continue to work for a number of return journeys (around 8 depending on various factors) even if your home loses power. If you have a powered swivel you will need to use the manual swivel lever.

Installation & Maintenance

  • How long does it take to install and how disruptive is it?

    Bespoke stairlifts are installed in just a matter of hours and with a minimum of fuss. Our engineers will make sure your home is left in exactly the same condition as they found it – with the exception of a lovely new stairlift of course! We aim for the installation to be as quick and convenient as possible.

  • When will my stairlift be ready for installation?

    Delivery of your stairlift will depend on the type of stairlift you have ordered. Currently, our lead time for the manufacture and installation of a stairlift for straight stairs is 7 - 10 working days from receipt of the order. For a stairlift for stairs with turns, delivery will be around 2 weeks from receipt of the order. You can find out more information on our installations page. These are approximate times and may change depending on demand.

  • What if my stairlift breaks down?

    Our stairlifts are very reliable; however, in the event of a breakdown, a specialist engineer from the company which supplied the lift will visit you and quickly fix the problem. Our stairlifts come with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind.

  • Do we need to have a power supply or is it run off a battery?

    Our stairlifts are battery-powered, but we will require an outlet either at the top or bottom of the stairs to keep it charged. We can arrange the installation of a powerpoint if required.

  • How do the batteries recharge?

    The Synergy straight has a continual charge. The Infinity curved rail has charge points on the rail.

  • How long does the battery in a Bespoke stairlift last?

    Depending on usage, your battery should last between 2 to 5 years.

    • What if my stairlift breaks down?

      Our stairlifts are very reliable; however, in the event of a breakdown, a specialist engineer from the company which supplied the lift will visit you and quickly fix the problem. Our stairlifts come with a 2-year warranty on parts for added peace of mind.

    • What quality and safety standards do Bespoke have?

      All Bespoke stairlifts are manufactured and tested to conform to the latest European and British safety standards. They go through rigorous testing and analysis to ensure critical factors of safety are achieved throughout the design and manufacture process.

    • What warranty do I get with my stairlift?

      Every new Bespoke stairlift purchased from a third party comes with a 2-year guarantee on parts. We do, however, offer various service contract packages that offer extended cover for greater peace of mind.

    • What type of service contracts do you offer after the warranty expires?

      Before your warranty expires, we will write to you detailing the different stair lift maintenance packages. We offer two types of service contracts. The Bespoke 5-Star stairlift maintenance contract or the Bespoke 3-Star stairlift maintenance contract.

    • Will you provide service assistance even if I don't have a service contract?

      Yes, one of our engineers will respond to a breakdown, even if you don’t have a service contract. In this event, charges will be advised on-site and payable to the engineer.

    • What happens if I'm not completely satisfied with my stairlift?

      In the unlikely event that you're not completely satisfied with your stairlift, we offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee from the date of installation on all new and reconditioned Bespoke stairlifts, purchased directly from us. Unfortunately, this offer is not available in Northern Ireland. See our full terms and conditions here.
